Rice Hulls are commonly used as a lighter bulking filler in native grass and wildflower mixtures to improve the seed flow and distribution through the seeding equipment like a fluffy native grass no-till drill or a larger PTO driven 3-point broadcaster with a true agitator inside the seed cone. For smaller broadcasters we would recommend a heavier bulk filler like Oats, Pelletized Ag Lime, or Cracked Corn. For bulking with Rice Hulls we recommend getting close to a total seeding weight of 10# to the acre (if your seed mix weighs 5# PLS per acre - you would want to add 5# of Rice Hulls per acre of seed ordered). You are ordering the total number of acres = 5 Pounds of bulk Rice Hulls you need for your entire seed order.
