Drill Seeding Depth: ⅛–¼" forb layer; ¼–½" for grass layer
Timing:
Dormant seeding: Oct–Dec (preferred for Great Basin climates)
Spring window: Feb–early April if moisture is reliable
Site Prep:
- Light harrow or dead-thatched surface if reseeding
- Where cheatgrass is dominant → treat with chemical or mechanical disturbance before seeding
- Shrub Notes: Expect bitterbrush & sagebrush to be multi-year establishment species
- Early results show grass/forb first, shrubs second.
